Wither \With"er\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Withered}; p. pr. & vb.
n. {Withering}.] [OE. wideren; probably the same word as
wederen to weather (see {Weather}, v. & n.); or cf. G.
verwittern to decay, to be weather-beaten, Lith. vysti to
wither.]
